Last month I went to San Juan, Puerto Rico for a few days and fell in love with all the colors of the buildings in Old San Juan. I wanted to create a sort of visual diary of my experience there with the colors I saw in abstract shapes. Some of the shapes come from architectural details I noticed in the houses, others are just your regular shapes! I’m thinking of starting to create visual art diaries of my travels as a new project…hope you enjoy these! Besos.
New Fruit Series playing with colors and shapes. Enjoy :)
I did a little series for my favorite meal...enjoy! Highlighting some of my favorite things to eat in the morning:)
Since my first fruit series was so much fun to work on, I did another! Here is series No. 2 ! Peach, Orange, and Cherry ~ Enjoy :)
This series is an attempt at practicing my Spanish and Japanese while drawing some of my favorite fruits. Hope you enjoy :)
A few new things... :)
This series is a special one. There are three places that I call home - Brooklyn, where I live, Washington D.C., where I was born, and Tokyo, where I spent my summers growing up. Each place feels like home whenever I find myself there. Hope you enjoy these illustrations of home. XO.
"Flowers of the Week" features a collection of three bouquets flowers I bought every Saturday morning at the farmers market. My friend gave me one of these large mason jars and it makes the perfect vase (not to mention they're fun to draw). I try to go to the market every Saturday morning to buy some fresh produce and flowers, it's my favorite way to start my weekend!
"Sneaker Story" features two prints of two different people I drew when I was outside one day. 'Pink Nikes' was drawn on an MTA bus, and 'Yellow New Balance' was drawn while I was on the subway...I'm always looking around (sometimes at people's shoes...) and I usually find something interesting to draw, even if it's just a pair of kicks.
